BRANCH |
President: Mr Roy Lincoln |
Secretary: Mr Malcolm Bool |
Asst Secretary/Treasurer
- Mr Fred Robbins |
| The Branch formed as
Redcliffe/Sandgate in 1972 and later changed to Sandgate Branch in 1979.
Meetings are held on the third Sunday each month, except December, in the
downstairs section of Sandgate RSL Memorial Club, Keogh St, Sandgate. A monument was erected in December 1998 and dedicated in January 1999 to all who had served at or passed through RAAF Station Sandgate during World War II and actually stands at the site of the old Guard House, situated at the junction of 19th Avenue and Flinders Parade, Brighton, in the grounds of the now Eventide Nursing home. Sandgate holds a short Sunset service at 1700 hours each ANZAC Day at the site and is ably assisted by Cadets from 212 AAFC, based at nearby Redcliffe.
