AFA Care is the community care division of the Royal Australian Air Force Association (RAAFA). The service was created in response to the need for quality in home services for the community, catering for all ages and needs through a variety of programmes.
RAAFA has a long standing involvement with both veterans and the community alike.
As a Department of Veterans Affairs approved provider, we are able to offer Community Nursing services to veterans through the department’s community nursing programme. AFA Care also offers services privately to the general community at very competitive rates. Discounts are offered to residents of the RAAFA estates.
Services provided include:
- (Private) Respite in home
- Community Nursing (Personal Care, medications, wound care, post–op care)
- Domestic assistance
- Shopping assistance
- Escorts to appointments
Our aim is provide clients with the care they require in the comfort and familiarity of their own homes, optimizing their independence and safety. Our RN`s and support staff work together to improve the ability of our clients to stay at home and prevent early admission to acute or residential facilities.

Q How do I get help with Nursing or personal care assistance?
A Speak to your GP, Welfare Office or the discharge planner if you are in hospital. Remember you can ask for AFA Care! They will arrange a referral for our services.
Q How do I pay my account?
A Your monthly account can be paid by direct debit, cheque or money order.
Q What if I am not a veteran and I still need help?
A Call us, we can offer you private services by negotiation or advise you on a package you may be entitled to through another funding body.
