| ACTIVE
LIVING Like all RAAFA retirement estates RAAFA Amity Village will have a busy social calendar for residents. On most days there would be several activities and often a key event. Some are organised by staff, some by clubs, and others by residents getting together independently. There are card nights, bingo, frequent social evenings with dancing and live music, happy hours and sausage sizzles. |
Residents
on each RAAFA estate publish their own regular
newsletters advising of upcoming events and the Association publishes the
bi-monthly AIR
MAIL newspaper,
which covers a wide variety of topics of interest to members and provides
a comprehensive list of activities that estate residents can attend.
There is certainly no shortage of things to keep you active when you live on a RAAFA estate. In fact some people say they have never been more active in their lives. |

| Many
estate residents form their own
special interest
groups and quite a few are members of clubs outside the estates. They pursue varied activities including bush walking, cycling, book clubs and computers. The lifestyle on RAAFA retirement estates is based on community involvement and "looking out for each other" but it is also actively outgoing. |
