Vickers Supermarine Spitfire F.22, single seat fighter. 
Power plant: One Rolls Royce Griffon 61 engine rated at 2375 hp. 
Dimensions: Wingspan 36ft 11ins (11.26m), Length 32ft 11ins (10.04m). 
Empty weight: 7106lbs (3251kg), maximum permissible weight 11290lb (5126kg). 
Performance: cruising speed 240mph (386km/h) at 27 per cent maximum power. 
Maximum speed: 454mph (730km/h). 
Range: 580 miles at 230mph. 
Service ceiling:  46,000 feet (12,100m). 
Armament: 4 x Hispano 20mm canon with 175 rounds for each inboard gun and 150 rounds for each outboard ones. Up to 3,500lb (227kg) bombs could be carried or alternatively rockets and other underwing loadings.

The Spitfire F.22 was the last but one of the Spitfire line and had been modified by redesigning the fuselage to suit increased loads. In addition the size of the fin, rudder and elevators had been increased in comparison to earlier mark Spitfires.
