First residents set to move into Cirrus

Gwen and Max Homewood are set to be one of the first couples to move into AFME’s new Cirrus Apartments during September.

“We’re very excited about moving in and have chosen all of our fixtures and fittings and are looking forward to having a home with no maintenance and no gardening,” said Gwen.

The couple, who were fortunate enough to sell their family home in North Lake following their first homeopen, had looked at a number of other retirement villages before their daughter suggested they look at the new complex going up at Air Force Memorial Estate.

“Our daughter drives past RAAFA every day on her way to work, and she suggested we have a look at the new apartment complex. There were so many things that appealed to us, including the security, being able to park our car undercover, and all of the facilities on site including the pool which will be particularly helpful for my husband.

“All the advice we’d received was to do the move sooner rather than later, and also to do it together, so we’re very pleased that it’s all coming along and we’ll be in our new home in no time really.”

Gwen and Max chose a two-bedroom, two bathroom apartment on the third floor at Cirrus Apartments.

“We chose the third floor because there is a residents’ lounge on that level, so if I’m out Max can wander down to have a coffee in the lounge, and have a chat,” adds Gwen.

“The big thing for us is having more time, we both love golf and wanted to have more leisure time to play, rather than do the gardening or maintenance around our family home.

“We’re very much looking forward to moving in and meeting our new neighbours.”
