RAAFA Recognised with Gold Standard from Worksafe Plan

RAAFA today announced it has been recognised by the Worksafe Western Australia with a coveted WorkSafe Plan Gold Certificate of Achievement.

The Gold Certificate was presented by the WorkSafe WA Commissioner Sally North to RAAFA CEO Michelle Fyfe, along with Health, Safety and Risk Manager Jenni Davidson and Chief People Officer Lisa Hawkins.

The WorkSafe Plan is an audit and assessment process used to rate health and safety management systems in Western Australian workplaces. It’s used to audit how well organisations have implemented a systematic approach to managing Work, Health and Safety, and how well they comply with safety legislation.

The Gold Certificate to organisations who demonstrate well developed Occupational Safety and Health management systems, a high level of implementation, and evidence of ongoing continuous improvements and system maintenance activities.

To secure the Certificate, RAAFA underwent a two-week audit, which involved visits to all sites, interviews with over 30 staff and a review of all safety documentation and data.

In 2020, RAAFA was awarded the Silver Certificate, with the 2024 accolade highlighting the team’s ongoing dedication to improvement and demonstrating excellence in care.

RAAFA Chief People Officer, Lisa Hawkins said the organisation’s approach to continuous learning and investment in people is key to achieving gold recognition.

“We are so proud of our team at RAAFA for both upholding and improvising the high safety standards that cement our organisation as a true leader in its field. We thank each and every team member here at RAAFA for continuing to pursue excellence in care day after day — this award is testament to their hard work and commitment,” said Hawkins.

“While we celebrate this milestone, let’s remember that safety is an ongoing journey. We now have a stronger foundation to build upon, and our continuous drive for excellence will ensure that safety remains at the forefront of everything we do,” said Hawkins.
